Red Match :

The Swallows thought that they were in for a charmed life but during the first few minutes of the game they looked lost. As the game went on our heroes remembered the good old days and began to play like champions. Then Thomas Napper, Jack Wasteney, William Hague, Keagan Ashburn and Andrew Lindley gave the Langold defence the run-around and between them scored a cracker. But Langold would not eat porridge and put in the equaliser. With the ball going from one end to the other in the early stages the Langold attackers kept going straight for goal. But never the twain met as the Swallow’s defence of Jordan Scott, Ross Kiddy and Adam Hird had the attackers bewitched.

Result: Swallownest 1 – 1 Langold

Blue Match:

With a touch line full of desperate housewives and the dad’s army full of butterflies we all expected the match of the day. The first few minutes could have seen any team take the upper hand and with everybody at the crossroads our attacking crew of Sam Goulden, Joshua Drury, Kai Deakin, Kieran Walton and Grace Akers showed they had the X Factor. The bonanza of goals soon began to tally up as we all began a countdown to the final whistle. With one foot in the grave Langold moved in to top gear keep and began to cannon shots at the defence of Sarah Marsh, Megan Nagy and Corrie Rust. But both home and away Langold proved to be the casualty.

Result: Swallownest 7 – 0 Langold

Swallows

Nunc imus, nunc imus, nunc imus

Red Match:

Meta! Meta! Meta! the word from the off. Atlas himself could not hold the pressure that was being applied by the Swallows. Our young Titans were the strongest side and thanks to Thomas Napper, Jack Wasteney, William Hague, Keagan Ashburn and Andrew Lindley soon had an impressive score. But Porter would not give up and showed early signs of counter attacking. With an impressive defence being provided by Jordan Scott, Ross Kiddy, Kieran Walton and Adam Hird; Achilles would not have scored.

Result: Swallownest 8 – 0 Porter

Blue Match:

Like Boreas the Swallows blew through the defence of Porter again and again. Somnus had Porter in a spell which they could break from. Sam Goulden, Cameron Shaw, Joshua Drury, Kai Deakin and Kian Hancock began to punish the back of the net. Again at times Porter fought back but this was rare and soon stopped thanks to Sarah Marsh, Megan Nagy, Grace Akers and Corrie Rust. With Clotho spinning the threads, Porter’s fate was soon sealed. The Swallows played like a team on fire and would have completed the 12 labours of Heracles before half time.

Team Squad:

Kieran Walton Ross Kiddy Joshua Drury

Adam Hird Jack Wasteney Kian Hancock

Andrew Lindley Thomas Napper Sam Goulden

William Hague Keagan Ashburn Sarah Marsh

Grace Akers Corrie Rust Megan Nagy

Cameron Shaw

Red Match:

The game was fast and hard with each side striving to get the upper hand and forge a lead. Every attack by Manton bounced off the anvil defence of Sarah Marsh, Ross Kiddy, and Grace Akers. Then as the pace began to take it’s toll on Manton the Swallows took the lead thanks to Thomas Napper, Keagan Ashburn, Andrew Lindley, Jack Wasteney and Kieran Walton. Further goals would not come to our team as Manton dug deep and walled up the goal.

Result: Swallownest 1 – 0 Manton

Blue Match:

The second match started just like the first with each team determined to anneal the other, but it was the Swallows who took control and scored but could not bend the Manton defence further. The constant attack of Cameron Shaw, Kian Hancock, Joshua Drury, and Sam Goulden could not dent the Manton defence. Then in two swift counter attacks the Swallows found themselves two goals down even with the best efforts of Adam Hird, Corrie Rust and Megan Nagy.

The game could have gone either way but the Swallows showed what they were made of against strong opposition.

It was full steam ahead as the Swallows came out to prove they could keep things on track.

Red Match:

The Swallows soon shunted Nethergreen to the sidings thanks to the team work of Sam Goulden, Thomas Napper an Andrew Linley as they went two goals ahead. But then the Swallows let the pressure off and found themselves on an even gauge as Nethergreen made it all square.

The runaway attacking of Nethergreen was stopped thanks to the combined efforts of Jordan Scott, Ross Kiddy, Adam Hird, and Meagan Nagy. With a counter strike coming deep from the defence a third goal was always on the ticket.

Result: Swallownest 3 – 2 Nethergreen

Blue Match:

The Swallows knew they had points to prove as they worked continuously to keep the ball out of the net.

The pressure proved too much and Nethergreen soon went three goals a head. With the buffer of the early lead gone it was down to William Hague, Joshua Scott and Kai Deakin to close the gap.

Leaving Jordan Scott, Grace Akers and Corrie Rust in a state of shock. But true to form Swallownest refused to be beat and with a master blaster equalled the score thanks to a team effort from the young guns of Jack Wasteney, Andrew Lindley, William Hague and Joshua Drury. Then the Hoyland Juniors came at the Swallows like a sledgehammer but the defence kept hangin’ tuff. Everything was at stake as Swallownest finally fielded a full rack of players and proved their quality.

Red Teams Match:

Swallownest took early control and sliced through the Heeley Boys defences to go two goals up thanks to the lean and mean attacking strength of Sam Goulden and Kai Deakin. But the Heeley Boys would not be tenderised at this early stage and fought back to almost level the score. This push from the Heeley Boys was cut out thanks to the backbone team work of Ross Kiddy, Adam Hird and Jordan Scott. With the midfield sewn up through Thomas Napper and Keagan Ashburn the Swallows soon had victory on the block.
