Club and History

Swallownest Juniors FC were formed in the summer of 2005 by Mark Kiddy and Tony Marsh.footylogonewcolours5kt.jpg

From the very beginning the philosophy has been to approach the game with a view to winning, but NOT AT ALL COST! with emphasis on enjoyment and fun.  The development of the players is key to the future success of Swallownest Juniors, and the medium term aim is to create more age groups within the club but this must be managed and well structured as per our previous teams to deliver our continued success.

Currently however, the focus remains completely with the crop of players gathered to play in the Under 13's Millenium League for the forthcoming 2007/08 season. And for our new age group under 9's who are currently playing their first season in the sheffield and hallamshire league.

Our new U9's squad was set up and funded for the 2007/2008 season by Mark and Michelle's efforts in relation to funding and team trials, team pitch, sponsors ect, when this was in place the team squad grew and with the help of the new Manager are now

progressing very well.

With a newly strengthened side ready to do battle in 2007/08, the under 13's team hopes it can improve on last-seasons 5th place.

One key achievement  in 2005/06 cannot go without mention.  Having attended the Mullion Tournamnet in Cornwall at Easter, the team were presented with the Fair Play Award for their age group.  This well-deserved award is an absolute credit to all who attended, from players to officials and parents.  Well done everyone.
